Tasting notes
The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon has a slightly denser, fuller personality, with a deep ruby/purple color, a classic nose of spring flowers and cedar wood, and a touch of toasty oak interwoven with black cherry and black currant fruit. It is medium to full-bodied, shows velvety opulence and has a long finish. It should drink well for 15+ years. Another relatively new operation owned by the Lindstrom family, the vineyard is a hilltop 20-acre parcel near Stags Leap Wine Cellars. As one might expect, these are very elegant wines. Production levels are just under 500 cases, and the wines are aged 21 months in mostly new French oak. Tel. (707) 226-6289; www.lindstromwines.com

Bright medium ruby. Lively, refined aromas of minerals, crushed rock and flowers. Less dense than the 2007 but supple and sweet, with an enticingly juicy quality to the perfumed flavor of crushed raspberry. Very nicely balanced cabernet, finishing tight but with powdery tannins and subtle length-and not dry.
