Coming from a 45-acre vineyard on the southwest corner of St. Helena, not far from the Dr. Crane Vienyard, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Pellet Vineyard sports a still vivid purple/plum hue as well as powerful notes of spiced black and blue fruits, loamy soil, tobacco, and spring flowers. Ripe, full-bodied, and impressively concentrated, this deep, plump, sexy 2012 can be drunk with ample pleasure today yet has another decade or life, probably longer.

Violets, lavender, smoke, plums and licorice are all laced together in the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Pellet Vineyard. This is an especially lifted, aromatic wine for this part of St. Helena, where vineyards sites are generally quite warm. Even with all of its obvious ripeness and raciness, the Pellet remains precise, nuanced and strikingly beautiful. This is a terrific showing from Quivet and winemaker Mike Smith.
A beautiful deep bluish/purple color, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Pellet Vineyard offers up notes of blueberry and blackberry, incense and floral notes. Medium to full-bodied, opulent and quite rich and luscious, this delicious consumer-friendly, yet seriously endowed, Cabernet Sauvignon can be drunk now or cellared for a decade or more.
Quivet's Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 Pellet Vineyard is highly promising. Dark red cherries, plums, smoke, tobacco and iron all flesh out in a voluptuous, racy Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2012 is rich, intense and full of character.
