Tasting notes
The 2014 Syrah Hangman's emerges from one of the most historic parcels in Lee Hudson's famed Carneros vineyard. All of the pedigree of that site comes through in the wine. Deep, rich and super-concentrated, the 2014 possesses notable intensity in all of its dimensions. Succulent dark cherry, smoke, leather, tobacco and cedar meld into the unctuous, resonant finish. This is a tremendous showing from Helen Keplinger.

Another deep, powerful wine, the 2014 Syrah Hangman's oozes character. Black cherry jam, cloves, spices and new oak meld together in a deep wine with demi-glace like sense of textural unctuousness. The new oak needs time to integrate, but that should not be an issue given how intense and powerful the wine is. Deceptively medium in body, the 2014 packs a real punch.
