Tasting notes
Deep, brilliant red. Ripe, spice-tinged red/dark berries, incense, vanilla and candied violet on the seductively perfumed nose. A smoky mineral nuance builds with air and adds vivacity to alluringly sweet cherry-cola, black raspberry and spicecake flavors that slowly tighten up on the back half. Pliant and seamless in texture, finishing with impressive power, a hint of smokiness and fine-grained, steadily building tannins. (made with 59% whole clusters and raised in French oak barrels, 30% of them new)

Pale to medium ruby-purple, the 2016 Pinot Noir Renegade Ridge Vineyard has a bright nose of red cherry, red licorice and wild blackberry with notes of cracked peppercorn, green tobacco, soil and dried leaves. Medium-bodied and silky textured with herbaceous red fruit in the mouth, it’s framed by slightly fuzzy tannins and lip-smacking acidity, finishing long and spicy. 440 cases produced.
