The 2019 Syrah Fuego Y Mar comes from a vineyard on the Sonoma Coast (the Silver Eagle Vineyard) and it's brought up in a mix of new and used barrels. It's a more feminine styled beauty offering a gorgeous perfume of black raspberries, wild blueberries, candied violets, smoked game, and pepper to go with a medium to full-bodied, seamless, gorgeously textured style on the palate. Floral, complex, and incredibly compelling, it reminds me of a mix of a great Cornas and a top Côte Rôtie – or I could just say it's a spectacular Sonoma Coast Syrah as well. Either way you look at it, this is utterly thrilling juice to enjoy over the coming decade.

The 2019 Fuego y Mar, 100% Côte Rôtie Syrah clone from Silver Eagle, is a total knock-out. Inky, deep and explosive, the 2019 is a gorgeous, seamless beauty that never stops. Inky dark fruit, chocolate, sweet spice and lavender build as this deep, unctuous Syrah shows off its allure. The 2019 was done entirely with destemmed fruit. Today it is positively stellar, from the first taste to the last. Magnificent.
