The 2015 Grenache El Diablo from the Russian River Valley, from a site just off Eastside road, is 97% Grenache and 3% Syrah aged in neutral 600-liter demi-muids. This peppery, ripe, black cherry, black raspberry, and earthy effort has medium to full-bodied richness, a plush, upfront, sweetly fruited style, and a great finish. It needs time in the glass to show at its best and will benefit from a year in bottle and keep for 7-8.

The 2015 El Diablo is rich and exotic in the glass, with layers of plump blueberry, blackberry fruit. Lavender, spice, mint and floral notes give the wine its striking inner perfume and sweetness. Like all of these wines, the Diablo is dark in profile. All the elements are impeccably balanced in this very pretty, alluring wine from Helen Keplinger. El Diablo is Russian River Grenache with drops of Syrah from a Russian River site farmed by Ulysses Valdez.
