Red Car’s outstanding 2002 Syrah Sugar Daddy is a blend of fruit from three vineyards, Colson Canyon, Thompson, and Rolling Hills. It spent 11 months in French oak, of which 60% was new. A dense ruby/purple-colored beauty, it reveals layers of flavors along with considerable elegance as well as complexity, a gorgeous bouquet of creme de cassis, violets, toast, and espresso, tremendous texture, full body, impressive purity, and a long, heady, concentrated finish.
