Score 86/100 · Drink 2006-2010, Pierre Rovani, Jun 2006
Offering scents of dark berries, the tannic, rustic 2003 Pinot Noir Guadalupe Vineyard has none of the sultriness that made this parcel of vines famous with Pinot lovers. Its tight, focused black fruit-flavored core leads to a firm, slightly edgy finish. Drink it over the next 3-4 years. www.kenwrightcellars.com; tel. (800) 571-6825

Dark red. Ripe, smoky, dark cherry aroma, with complicating, exotic notes of blood orange and fresh basil. Sappy and fat in the mouth, with a distinctly ripe cherry tone. Dense and long, with pronounced ripeness. Fans of large-scaled, ripe pinot will enjoy this one.
