Tasting notes
From an early-ripening site in Calistoga at 1,000 feet above sea level, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Heimark Vineyard is a blend of clones 4 and 337. Ripe cherries are joined on the nose by hints of mint and bay leaf, while the palate is full-bodied but quite taut, framed by just-ripe tannins. This wine could use a few years in bottle to relax and open up.

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Heimark Vineyard comes from a vineyard in Calistoga and, as with the other wines here, is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that was aged in 90% new oak. First made in 2019, it reveals a deep purple hue to go with classic Calistoga savory, dried herbs, chocolate, earthy minerality, and assorted red and black fruits. It's rich and concentrated, with fine tannins, beautiful mid-palate depth, and the focused, vibrant style of the vintage.
