Tasting notes
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Bergfeld, which comes from a vineyard in St. Helena, has a softer underbelly than the two mountain Cabs, but beautiful blueberry and blackberry fruit, floral notes, silky tannins, and a nice plush mouthfeel that builds incrementally. This full-bodied, luscious wine should drink well in its first 15-20 years of life.

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Bergfeld emerges from a site on the St. Helena valley floor, right behind the winery and tasting room facility. Today, the tannins are especially dominant, while the radiance and layered personality that is typical of this wine is not especially apparent. It will be interesting to see how the Bergfeld shows after bottling. In this tasting it comes across as not fully formed.
