The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Bergfeld, from Hall's home vineyard, is a terrific expression of this sector of St. Helena. Floral notes and a host of sweet red cherry, raspberry fruit make a strong first impression. Silky tannins add to the wine's gracious, inviting personality. Rich in flavor and also light on its feet, the Bergfeld is another superb wine from Hall.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Bergfeld (a barrel sample) is deep purple-black in color and gives up notes of warm plums, chocolate-covered cherries and wild blueberries with touches of tapenade, tobacco and wild sage. Full-bodied with a firm frame of chewy tannins, it delivers loads of herb-sparked black fruit layers and a very earthy finish.
