Score 89/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2006
Bright medium ruby. Cassis, blackberry, violet and licorice on the nose. Juicy and precise if a bit lean, with penetrating flavors of blackberry and licorice framed by bright acids. Finishes with firm-edged tannins.

Score 90/100 · Drink 2005-2008, Robert Parker, Dec 2005
The talented Bob Foley turns out one of the two finest Charbonos in California. (Turley Cellars produces the other). Deep ruby/purple with notes of earth, mocha., black cherry, and spice, Foley’s 2004 Charbono is full-bodied, chewy, slightly rustic, but tasty. Drink it over the next 2-3 years. Tel. (707) 965-2669
