Tasting notes
The 2019 Chardonnay Estate—the first iteration of this cuvée—is extraordinarily expressive, with notably fine energy, texture and length. It was matured for 12 months in 38% new French oak and finished with six months in stainless steel. Scents of peach and apricot are complemented by tones of lilac, honey, toast and roasted almonds on the nose, and it unfurls further nuances as it airs in the glass. The light-bodied palate is surprisingly energetic, its perfumed fruit enlivened by mouthwatering acidity that calls you in for another taste. And its delicately styled yet concentrated fruit, streaked with flinty tones, suggest this Chardonnay will offer a decade or more of savory development in the cellar. 150 cases were made.

The 2019 Chardonnay (Russian River Valley) is a very pretty and complex appellation-level wine. Apricot, chamomile, dried flowers, mint, hazelnut and honey are nicely pushed forward. This deceptively mid-weight Chardonnay packs a pretty good punch.
