Tasting notes
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Calistoga comes from Larkmead's old Olmo clone of Cabernet (Clone 2). It offers up scents of red berries and cherries yet also a dark chocolate, mocha-tinged note. It's full-bodied, concentrated and rich, tannic but silky, with excellent persistence on the finish.

Coming all from the Larkmead Vineyard in the northern part of the valley, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Calistoga sports a dense purple color as well as a great nose of ripe dark fruits, chocolate, smoke, and some earthy minerality. Full-bodied, backward and structured on the palate, this is a legit, age-worthy beauty that's going to benefit from 2-4 years in the cellar and keep for 15+. There are a scant 300 cases made.
