Tasting notes
Good full red. Musky aromas of redcurrant, black cherry and brown spices. Pliant, sweet and suave if a bit slight, with bright fruit lifted by an aromatic floral element. This mounts nicely on the perfumed, juicy back end, where the tannins are suave.

I was completely blown away by the 2001 Barbaresco Riserva Pajè. It displays intense, deeply expressive balsamic nuances of menthol and spices that draw in the taster. Massively proportioned, it reveals a tight core of sweet dark fruit and layers of minerals, licorice and roasted coffee beans with notable length and an authoritative, powerful personality. It is a very pleasurable glass of Barbaresco.
