Displaying a deep ruby center and magenta rim, 2018 Tempranillo la Paciencia offers a generous nose with elements of blackberry skin, dark cherry and dusty plum with elements of iodine and baked clay. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is ripe, with a dark-fruited essence and mineral tension and fine-grained tannins across the mid-palate. The Tempranillo ends with an earthy finish with elements of dusty plum and damson flower essence. The wine rested for 22 months in approximately 20% new oak. Just under 3,900 bottles were produced.

Stewed plums, spices, roasted meat and grilled herbs on the nose. It’s full-bodied with chewy tannins. Fleshy texture on the palate with chalky and spicy character. Flavorful, smoky and earthy finish. Drink or hold.

Also gorgeous, the 2018 Tempranillo reveals a more opaque purple hue as well as a great nose of redcurrants, blueberries, raspberries, exotic flowers, and loads of savory spice. This carries to a rich, meaty, medium to full-bodied Tempranillo with polished tannins, notable freshness, and a beautiful finish that keeps you coming back to the glass. It's another 2018 from this team that has the purity and elegance to drink brilliantly today yet the balance and structure to evolve for at least 15 years or more. Made at the same winery as Cayuse, Horsepower, and Hors Category, these No Girls wines are made by the talented Elizabeth Bourcier, who makes a more perfumed, elegant style of wine and pulls largely from the La Paciencia Vineyard in the Rocks region of Walla Walla. These are singular, gorgeous wines across the board.

Bright, dark red-ruby. Raspberry complicated by peppery spices and tree bark on the nose. Juicy, silky and alive on entry, then intensely flavored and fine-grained in the middle palate, offering classically dry flavors of raspberry, minerals, spices and soil. No easy sweetness here! With a serious tannic spine calling for aging, this juicy wine needs time to unfold and put on weight. In comparison, the 2017 bottling was a bit more open-knit last year, but this long, juicy wine shows more vinosity than the 2018 Cayuse Impulsivo Tempranillo.
