Tasting notes
The deep garnet colored 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Vintner's Select is a little restrained to start, offering emerging suggestions of oolong tea, dusty soil, sautéed herbs and tobacco leaf over a core of warm cassis and raspberry pie plus wafts of prunes and kirsch. Full-bodied, the palate reveals loads of muscular black fruits with provocative red berry accents and a firm line of ripe, grainy tannins, finishing long with bold freshness.

Another juicy, expressive wine, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Vintner's Select shows considerably more textural roundness and depth than the straight Cabernet bottling. Plush, round and deep, the 2009 covers every inch of the palate with layers of fruit. Hints of smoke, menthol, tar and graphite add gravitas on the dark, brooding finish.
Good dark red-ruby. Currant, mocha and nutty oak on the inviting nose. Sweet, suave and seamless, but with harmonious acidity lifting the dark berry and mocha flavors. Rich but elegantly styled mountain cabernet with fine-grained tannins and excellent persistence.
