Tasting notes
The 2009 Haut Bages Libéral feels disjointed on the nose with quite punchy graphite aromas coming through, though it needs more cohesion. The palate is medium-bodied with a chewy entry, more red fruit than black, let down by a rather monotone finish. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 2009 Bordeaux tasting.

From a blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon and 32% Merlot, notes of tobacco, cassis, earth and leafy scents emerge. Medium bodied, with a hint of old school rusticity in the mid palate, the wine ends with a cassis filled finish.
Pretty nose of blueberries, currants and blackberries, follows through to a full body, with ultra-refined tannins and polished, caressing texture. Very refined and long. Perhaps the best ever from here. Try after 2018.
