The 2012 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard is quite powerful and intense today, with a gorgeous interplay of fruit, acidity and tannin. Game, smoke, sweet red cherries, menthol and tobacco open up in the glass, but the Savoy is mostly a wine of texture backed up by considerable energy and power. I imagine the Savoy will be even better once the tannins soften a bit further.

(13.4% alcohol): Moderately saturated medium red. Deep aromas of wild cherry, strawberry, spices and peppery herbs are at once slightly liqueur-like and medicinal. Pungent, lively red fruit and dusty herb flavors dominate the rather lean mid-palate. On the light side but certainly fresh.
