Tasting notes
I always love this cuvée from Keplinger, which comes from 100% Grenache grown in the Russian River Valley. The 2019 Grenache Basilisk sports a semi-opaque ruby/purple hue to go with awesome notes of black raspberries, white pepper, sandalwood, lavender, and dried flowers. These carry to a medium to full-bodied, pure, utterly seamless Grenache with fine tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish. I'd happily put this up with the finest examples of the variety coming out of California (or France) today. It will keep for a decade.

The 2019 Basilisk, 100% Grenache from Greywacke, takes deep varietal notes and turns up the volume to eleven. This huge, inky Grenache packs a huge punch. Opulent red fruit, spice, leather, cedar and dried herbs lend nuance to this decidedly explosive, full-throttle wine.
