The 2018 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast comes partly from the Yu-ki vineyard and partly from the Campbell Ranch vineyard, and was aged in 18% new French oak. Medium ruby in color, it is scented of wild berries and rhubarb with pure notes of dried herbs, citrus and floral perfume. The medium-bodied palate is silky and fresh with intense, spicy fruits and a long, layered finish. 1,250 cases produced.

Freeman's 2018 Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley) is absolutely gorgeous. Racy and exuberant in the glass, the 2018 exudes richness and all of the allure of the year. Bright acids lend brightness to a core of black cherry, plum, spice, lavender, sage and floral notes. Soft curves give this open-knit, pliant Pinot tons of sheer appeal. Far from an easygoing appellation level Pinot, the 2018 packs plenty of punch, with a lot of tannin and bright acids. Give it a few years to soften. Vineyard sources are Gloria and Keefer. This is a fabulous appellation-level wine.
Moving to the Pinot Noirs, the appellation 2018 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast comes from two sites on the Sonoma Coast and spent 10 months in 18% new French oak. This classy, complex Pinot Noir offers plenty of mulled cherry and raspberry fruits, some cola and foresty notes, medium-bodied richness, and no hard edges on the palate. A plush, satisfying Pinot Noir, it will keep nicely for 3-5 years.
