2020 Rivers-Marie Pinot Noir Bearwallow Vineyard

The 2020 Pinot Noir Bearwallow Vineyard is a very pretty, understated wine. Despite the warm year and the natural forwardness that is typical of Anderson Valley, the 2020 comes across as lithe and restrained. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry fruit, hard candy, spice and mint all grace this delicate Pinot from Rivers-Marie. I would give the 2020 a year or two in bottle, as the tannins show a bit of edginess. Alternatively, a few hours of air works quite well. This is very nicely done.
