2013 Arkenstone Cabernet Sauvignon Coliseum Block

From the Hossfeld Vineyard in Soda Canyon, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Coliseum Block Hossfeld Vineyard is a 200-case cuvée aged 30 months in a combination of Taransaud, Darnajou and Remond barrels. Opaque purple, this is a big, deep, concentrated and powerful, virile style of Cabernet Sauvignon with loads of blackcurrant and blackberry fruit, incense, crushed/powdered rock minerality, forest floor and licorice. There is plenty of tannin – the wine powerful, muscular and best cellared for another 4-5 years and aged over the following 3-4 decades.
