Score 94/100 · Drink 2025-2040, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, Aug 2021

Marked by delectable accents of cinnamon and nutmeg, the cassis and cedar nose of the 2016 Sandown Cabernet Sauvignon is classic. This medium to full-bodied Cabernet is richly structured and tannic while being velvety in texture at the same time, with a long, enticingly furry finish and hints of vanilla and mocha.

Gorgeous blue and black fruits as well as green tobacco, cedarwood, and graphite emerge from the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Sandown Vineyard, which has a distinct Bordeaux-like texture as well as complexity. Medium to full-bodied, with nicely balanced acidity and a great finish, it benefits from a decant and will evolve for 15+ years.
