The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Revelation was produced from Pine Mountain fruit harvested November 2, 4, and 9. Aromas of forest floor, blue and black fruits, underbrush, truffles, lead pencil shavings and espresso roast are followed by a rich, full-bodied, intense wine with beautiful fruit as well as stunning purity and density. This beauty should drink well for a decade or more. This relatively new, interesting enterprise was created by May-Britt and Denis Malbec. Denis, who long worked in Bordeaux, has become an increasingly respected and sought-after wine consultant in Northern California. Consequently, it is not surprising that the Capture cuvees are strongly Bordeaux-influenced from philosophy and winemaking perspectives. Tel. (707) 395-0457

Bright red-ruby. Dark bitter cherry, chewing tobacco, pepper and spices on the nose, complicated by floral and mineral nuances. Densely packed and impressively concentrated, with a blast of minerality leavening the wine's sweetness. The most intense and complete of these 2010 reds but youthfully tight today and in need of at least five or six years of cellar time. This should evolve gracefully.
