Tasting notes
The 2017 Pinot Noir Silver Eagle Vineyard was made with about 15% whole cluster and aged 10 months in 33% new French oak. Medium ruby, the nose gives cured meats, rhubarb, cranberry, pomegranate and sweet red berries with cola, woodsmoke and earthy touches. Light to medium-bodied and silky, the sweet red fruits are supported by grainy tannins and well-woven freshness, finishing long. 300 cases produced.

Coming all from the Calera and Swan clones from a warmer site on the Sonoma Coast, the 2017 Pinot Noir Silver Eagle Vineyard has a supple, rounded, medium-bodied style as well as lots of ripe red fruits (strawberries, cherries), flowers, and hints of tobacco. It’s not the longest or deepest wine in the lineup, but it’s beautifully balanced, has no hard edges, and is just loaded with charm and upfront appeal.
