The 2019 Pinot Noir Arcus Vineyard has a medium ruby color and scents of tart blackberries and sour cherries with earthy accents. The medium-bodied palate features earth and spice-laced fruits, a grainy, juicy frame and a simple but pleasing finish.
The 2019 Pinot Noir Arcus Vineyard was also aged for 9 months in 30% new French oak barrels and is expressive of cranberry compote, forest floor, and herbes de Provence. Ripe raspberry on the palate moves in a savory direction, leading to notes of beetroot and quinine. Drink 2024-2032.
Full bottle 1,336 g. Planted 1973 – 2008 in Jory soil at 260 – 620 ft elevation. Pale ruby. Ripe red cherries again, like the Summit, but with a bit of black-cherry and plum skin as well. More grippy and with a bit of black-tea bitterness. This wine has some lift to it and more evident oak than the Summit. This is a bit brawnier, built for a few more years' ageing. (SCJ)
