The 2017 Grenache River Rock Vineyard (85% Grenache, 12% Syrah, and 3% Pinot Noir) comes all from the estate vineyard in the Rocks region of Walla Walla and was brought up in concrete tanks. It offers a pretty, ethereal style that carries lots of kirsch and strawberry fruits as well as notes of leafy herbs, pepper, and dried earth. It's certainly not a blockbuster and has an almost Pinot Noir-like vibe, yet it's a wine that carries power with no sensation of weight or heaviness. It's going to evolve for 7-8 years.
