Tasting notes
Dark red. Explosive spiced strawberry and raspberry on the nose, with gentle white pepper and floral accents. Elegant, silky and deep in sweet red berry flavors, with light but firm tannins giving support. The sexy red fruit notes carry through a long, spicy finish and cling to the palate with remarkable tenacity. This is irresistible right now.

The last 2004s to be released include the dark ruby-hued 2004 Grenache Dry Stack Vineyard, which comes from Bennett Valley’s cobblestone soils. The wine was never racked until it was assembled for bottling, and 100% stems were utilized. A peppery, sweet kirsch liqueur-scented bouquet is followed by a medium to full-bodied wine with a note of exoticism as well as abundant fruit. It is an outstanding example of Grenache that should drink well for 4-5 years.
