2009 Bedrock Syrah Griffin's Lair Vineyard

Bright purple. The most backward of this set of syrahs, with a slow-to-unfold bouquet of dark berries, singed plum and cherry pit. Lush, weighty and ripe, offering slightly warm blackberry and plum compote flavors and slow-mounting smokiness. Finishes broad and smooth, with a whiplash of bitter cherry and peppery spices and excellent length. This needs some time.
