Score 93/100 · Drink 1997-2012, Robert Parker, Aug 1997
Made by the export manager for Caymus Vineyards, Klaus Janzen, this wine, a 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Sangiovese, 10% Petite Sirah blend, is smashing! With an opaque purple color, a sweet, classy nose of well-integrated spicy new oak, and blackcurrant, cherry, and plum fruit, this layered, full-bodied wine is loaded with extract, pure, large-scaled, and lavishly wooded, but gorgeously knit together as all of its component parts are in balance. The wine remains youthfully grapy, but another 2-3 years of bottle age should bring forth an original masterpiece. Drink it over the next 15 years. Tel. (707) 967-9024
