The 2022 Pinot Noir Olivet Lane Vineyard comes from Martini clone vines planted on AXR rootstock in 1974. Matured for 15 months in 60% new oak, initial tones of flint and coffee give way to blackberry, red cherry, lilac, iron and fennel. The medium-bodied palate has a seamless structure of velvety tannins and bright acidity, and its concentrated flavors glide into a long finish. It will benefit from 3-5 years in bottle. 754 cases produced.

From a vineyard planted in 1974 on AXR rootstock and all Martini heritage clone, a wild nose comes through on the 2022 Pinot Noir Olivet Lane Vineyard, which pours a jeweled red ruby color and is layered and savory, revealing compact aromas of resinous wild herbs, roasted thyme, black cherries, berries, leather, and dark forest floor. It’s medium-bodied but with broader shoulders, and it offers ripe, silky tannins and an expansive feel. Its supple texture and plush length make it very appealing now. Drink 2025-2040. These are the spring releases from Williams-Selyem and were tasted with Vice President and Director of Winemaking Jeff Mangahas at the estate in the Russian River Valley.
