Score 91/100 · Drink 2000-2015, Robert Parker, Dec 2000

The 1998 Metisse (a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, and 3% Cabernet Franc) is a gorgeously-proportioned, full-bodied, dark purple-colored effort with superb density, soft, sweet tannin, a generous constitution, and copious quantities of blackberry and cassis fruit nicely dosed with subtle new oak. Low in acidity, it is ideal for drinking over the next 12-15 years. It is an exceptional proprietary red from the 1998 vintage. (Release date 03/01) Tel. (707) 963-6008; Fax (707) 963-4546
