Score 89/100 · Drink 2005-2013, Robert Parker, Dec 2005

The deep ruby/purple-tinged, medium-bodied 2003 Pinot Noir Ferrington Vineyard reveals terrific fruit on the attack, followed by tart acidity, and notes of cherries, damp earth, and blueberries. This vintage has turned out well for Williams-Selyem, and it is best drunk over the next 5-8 years. Tel. (707) 433-6425; Fax (707) 433-6546

Deep, bright ruby. Sappy aromas of crushed berries, kirsch and licorice. Sweet, dense and rather muscular, with wild flavors of blackberry and blueberry. A concentrated, distinctly masculine wine with terrific inner-palate energy. Finishes long and youthfully aggressive. This makes the Weir Vineyard wine seem open-knit by comparison. I'd give this a good five or six years in the cellar.
