Score 91/100 · Drink 2014-2019, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2014

The 2011 Pinot Noir Ferrington Vineyard, from a site in Anderson Valley, is intriguing. Here the flavors are deep, bold and even a bit wild, but all the elements are beautifully balanced in the glass. Juicy dark cherries, plums, game, menthol and spices flesh out in an immediate, resonant wine with tons of complexity and no shortage of personality.

Vivid ruby-red. High-pitched aromas of candied flowers, raspberry and Asian spices, with a deeper cola nuance emerging with air. Lively and precise on the palate, offering sappy red fruit flavors of uncommon depth. Rich but lithe and focused, with excellent finishing clarity and lingering spiciness.
