Tasting notes
The 2015 Pinot Noir Ferrington Vineyard is stellar. An explosion of inky red/purplish fruit, kirsch, hard candy and lavender hits the palate as this exuberant, racy Pinot shows off its personality. Deep and concentrated in the glass, with no hard edges, the Ferrington delivers the goods. This is not an especially subtle style, but it is hard to fault the Ferrington for being so flat-out delicious.

Strong spice aromas and ripe, bold fruit flavors make this a powerful, extroverted wine with a lot of flavor impact. It seems to represent a style shift at Williams Selyem. Nutmeg, ginger and clove leap from the glass and laser-focused black-cherry flavors fill the palate, supported by firm tannins and acidity. Best after 2021. — Jim Gordon
