Tasting notes
The 2016 Pinot Noir Estate Block 8 is another stellar wine from Hirsch, bringing together all the best qualities that make these wines so compelling. Rich and explosive, with plenty of fruit, the Block 8 also has plenty of supporting structure to wrap all the elements together. In this tasting, it is the epitome of balance.

The 2016 Pinot Noir Block 8 has a medium ruby color and youthfully subdued nose of peppercorn, tobacco, dried tea leaves, bergamot and bitter citrus peel over a red and black fruit core. Light to medium-bodied, it gives wonderful concentration and layers in the mouth—fruit, earth and spice are all here—with very fine, grainy tannins and a very energetic, almost buzzing, long and layered finish. This will benefit from decanting. 466 cases produced.
