A big, structured, medium to full-bodied effort, the 2013 Pinot Noir Pisoni Vineyard was completely destemmed and aged 16 months in 46% new French oak. Offering up lots of granite-like minerality, cassis, smoked earth and ripe herbs, it has beautiful mid-palate depth and fine tannin, all of which give it a chiseled, focused feel. Give it 2-3 years.

The 2013 Pinot Noir Pisoni comes across as a bit compact and not fully expressive, almost certainly because it was one of the last wines in this series to be bottled and Pisoni naturally tends to yield intense, structured wines. Today, the 2013 is nearly impossible to evaluate, but I expect to have an update soon.
