Tasting notes
Mainly Cabernet Franc from both Shifflett Ranch and Stagecoach, the 2021 Paramour Proprietary Red offers up scents of black cherries accented by slightly leafy, tobacco-like notes and hints of violets and mint. Full-bodied yet supple across the mid-palate, it adds some dark chocolate notes and firm tannins on the finish.

Mostly Cabernet Franc, the 2021 Paramour Proprietary Red has beautiful red, blue, and black fruits to go with more floral and chocolaty nuances that emerge with time in the glass. It’s medium to full-bodied, has a firm, structured mouthfeel as well as terrific concentration, and is going to need 4-5 years of bottle age to show its full potential.
The 2021 Paramour is gorgeous. Intensely aromatic and deep, the 2021 is endowed with notable richness and texture. Succulent dark cherry/plum fruit, grilled herbs, rose petals, mint and mocha lend nuance to this racy, imposing red.
The 2021 Paramour, Blackbird's Cabernet Franc-based wine, is packed with inky blue/purplish fruit, lavender, menthol, licorice and spice. Deep, fleshy and impeccably balanced, the 2021 is shaping up to be a jewel of a wine.
