Score 92/100 · Drink 2022-2028, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2021
The 2016 Barolo is a pleasant, easygoing Barolo to drink over the next decade or so. Sweet dried cherry, leather, spice, orange peel, menthol, licorice and dried flowers are all laced together in this attractive, mid-weight Barolo from Giacosa. I suggest opening the 2016 well in advance, as it opens up beautifully with a few hours of air. This is a gorgeous wine in its peer group.
