Score 98/100 · Drink 2016-2036, Robert Parker, Jan 2016

Their flagship wine, the 2013 Proprietary Red Dancing Hares is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The color is a saturated ruby/purple, the nose sightly more restrained than the Mad Hatter, but intense, deep and promising. The wine is extremely full-bodied, with notes of chocolate, espresso, crème de cassis, licorice and blackberry, this has killer intensity, super full-bodied richness, but is relatively light on its feet for this kind of mass and richness. This is a fabulous wine and certainly a great 2013, which is saying something in a vintage that is this incredible. Drink it over the next 15-20 years.

The 2013 Dancing Hares is endowed with striking depth and concentration. Blackberry jam, crème de cassis, espresso, mocha and plums are all laced together. A wine of density and power, the 2013 packs a serious punch, but the aromatics still need time to open up post-bottling. There is plenty to look forward to in this intense, virile wine from Dancing Hares.

Score 93-95/100 · Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Dec 2014

Violets, bittersweet chocolate, blackberry jam and spices are some of the many notes that burst from the 2013 Dancing Hares. Rich, powerful and explosive, the 2013 boasts magnificent depth and tons of personality. The balance of fruit and oak is noticeably better than in the 2012, even with a year less of elevage, a clear sign of the superiority of this vintage.
