Tasting notes
The 2021 Chardonnay El Diablo Vineyard was raised for 11 months in 45% new French oak and comes from a site in the Russian River Valley that sits above the fog line at 750 feet elevation. Pouring a bright straw/yellow hue, it has a fantastic nose of pure Meyer lemon, delicate matchstick, poached apples, and fresh flowers. Medium to full bodied, it retains a fantastic vertical feel through the palate, with ripe acidity and a beautiful, light, chalky texture, with notes of toasted oak on the long finish. This is an outstanding wine from Kosta Browne and will be an age-worthy white to check on over the next 10 years.

The 2021 Chardonnay El Diablo was matured for 12 months in 34% new French oak, plus six months in stainless steel. It has a strong creamy, honey-nut character, its apricot aromas accented by tones of cereal milk, toasted almonds and meringue. The light-bodied palate is concentrated with creamy, nutty fruit, though it offers surprisingly vibrant acidity, and it has a long, savory finish.
