Tasting notes
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Jumping Goat Vineyard Métisse from Melka's vineyard in St. Helena near Spottswoode and Madrona Ranch, is radiant, supple and flamboyant in style, with all of the richness of the vintage very much in evidence. Black cherry, smoke, mocha, dark chocolate French oak notes all flesh out in this ample, voluptuous Cabernet Sauvignon. There is so much to like here.

Montbleau is a new wine, coming from two acres in St. Helena planted in 1997. Produced from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2015 Montbleau has a deep garnet-purple color and is a little reticent at this youthful stage, offering up notions of blueberry compote and blackberry pie with suggestions of cloves, menthol and lavender, plus a waft of smoked meats. Medium to full-bodied, it has a solid structure of grainy tannins and lively acid supporting the tightly wound, muscular fruit, finishing long and mineral-laced. 90 cases were made.
