Medium-deep red, not as bright as the Central Coast wine. Slightly reduced aromas of chocolate, game, roasted coffee and cardamom. Supple on entry, then rather brooding in the middle palate, even hard. I don't find a lot of sweetness here, and the tannins and acids give the wine's finish a slightly astringent character. May well simply need six months in bottle.
