Score 89/100 · Drink 2016-2022, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2016

(13.8% alcohol): Full ruby-red. Aromas of redcurrant, plum and chocolate accented by herbs and dried flowers. Supple on entry, then a touch herbal and dry in the middle palate, conveying moderate sweetness and depth to its blueberry, cherry and leather flavors. This wine lacks the density and éclat of the Kronos Vineyard bottling.

Mid healthy crimson. Neat and a little sweet. Fresh and frisky. Medium weight and very different from the California Cabernet norm. Vigorous. (JR)

Good full ruby-red. Musky aromas of dried cherry, cedar, fresh herbs, incense and tobacco. Dense, juicy and fine-grained, with lovely verve to its delineated flavors of raspberry, spices, loam, leather and herbs. Finishes ripe and long but delicate, with nicely integrated acidity, understated sweetness and fine tannins that dust the front teeth. Mouthfilling cabernet without any undue weight, a bit in the style of the '08.

About the producer

Corison 1:1
Corison

Cathy Corison is one of Napa’s leading lights – a matriarch of the region who crafts defiantly elegant Cabernet Sauvignon from her old vines on the benchland between Rutherford and St Helena. These refined, long-ageing wines are some of Napa’s most impressive.
