Tasting notes
Blackish crimson. Polished, sinewy nose. Complete and very ripe. Quite a good core of fruit and flavour, although the finish is a little drying and challenging at this point but there does seem to be some capacity for ageing. Blind guess: valley. Revealed location: valley. (JR)

From a 2-acre valley floor vineyard, the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Cyrus Ryan offers deep black currant and black cherry fruit intermixed with charcoal, graphite, and spice, supple tannins, an attractive, up-front, fleshy mouthfeel, and none of the rustic hardness that can appear in some 2006 Cabernets. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. This Spring Mountain winery has fashioned their finest wines since the early nineties. Tel. (707) 963-7075; Fax (707) 963-3724
