Tasting Notes
I always love the Chardonnay from this site, and the 2019 Chardonnay McCrea Vineyard doesn't disappoint, offering incredible purity, precision, and obvious minerality. More white peach, lemon, white flowers, and crushed stone notes emerge from the glass, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a layered, mineral-laced mouthfeel, a touch of toasted nuts on the palate, and a fabulous finish. It's another incredible wine from winemaker Jason Kesner that will evolve for 10-15 years in cold cellars.

The 2019 Chardonnay McCrea Vineyard is fresh, perfumed and beautifully lifted. Lemon confit, marzipan, dried flowers and chamomile all grace this gentle, understated Chardonnay from Kistler. Bright mineral notes punctuate the brilliant finish. Floral and saline hints are especially prominent. The McCrea vineyard designate emerges from the portion of the vineyard that is rich in white silica soils, while fruit from volcanic soils go into the Sonoma Mountain bottling.
About the producer

Kistler’s Chardonnays are some of the world’s most sought-after. This cult Californian producer crafts small volumes of exceptional, rich and generous, yet mineral and precise wines. With almost the entire production sold directly to their mailing list, the wines are also incredibly hard to find.
