Good deep, bright red. More earth and iron and less primary fruits and flowers on the nose, owing to the clay content in the soil. Then large-scaled and plump with fruit in the mouth, showing a sappy quality and more energy than the Rueling if not quite the same early pliancy. Blueberry and wild strawberry flavors emerged with air. Finishes lush and broad, with noble tannins and outstanding length.

About the producer

Aubert
The Aubert wines, particularly the Chardonnay, have a cult following – beloved for their rich, hedonistic style. Created by Mark and Theresa Aubert in 1999, the property makes some of California’s most sought-after Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, all from single vineyards across Sonoma.
