Tasting Notes
From a vineyard named for Aubert's frequent collaborator, Ulises Valdez, and still farmed by his family, the 2022 Pinot Noir UV Vineyard bursts with cherries and raspberries, plus a hint of pie spice. Full-bodied, warm, supple and spicy on the palate, this is soft and appealing on the long, plush finish.

An intense pinot with aromas of balsamic, plums and blackberries and hints of caramel, following through to a medium body with a beautiful frame of fine tannins. Solid and beautiful. Extremely long, gorgeous finish. Hard not to drink this now, but it will age beautifully.
The 2022 Pinot Noir UV Vineyard is such a classy wine. Crushed flowers, mint, bright red-toned fruit and cinnamon are some of the notes that grace this layered, vibrant Pinot. All the elements are so nicely balanced. Floral notes perk up the finish. Clones here are Calera and Vosne-Romanée.
Medium to deep ruby-purple in color, the 2022 UV Pinot Noir rocks up with ready-to-go scents of black cherries, black raspberries, and mulberries, leading to suggestions of hoisin, star anise, and incense with a waft of rose oil. The full-bodied palate delivers fantastic tension, with bags of juicy black berry flavors and a beautiful, fine-grained texture, finishing long and spicy. This was planted to the Calera clone in 2001 by late vineyard manager Ulises Valdez Sr. Right in the middle of Russian River, the soil on this site is a unique mix of sand and dense clay. 800 cases were bottled in June 2023.
