The essence of Nebbiolo emerges from Colla's 2014 Barbaresco Roncaglie. Scents of rose petal, orange peel, dried herbs, cinnamon, kirsch and dried cherry are impossible to resist. Every bit as compelling on the palate, the 2014 is silky, lifted and super-expressive. Brisk tannins ensure the 2014 will drink well for a number of years, but the 2014 is terrific, even at this early stage. There is so much to like.
